This is kind of how Star Wars: Uncut came to be. While working at Vimeo, I was toying around with the idea of creating a collaborative tool for film makers and using it to create a film. A tool that would help organize the film crew, actors, assets, etc. This tool would most likely be very complicated to build, so my brain automatically defaulted to the common denominator. Think of the easiest way to create a feature-length film. Split a movie into pieces and crowd-source it. There are many permutations and evolutions of this model that could be greatly beneficial to the film community. I think this specific model has been most useful to budding film makers who are finding a creative outlet and even their fifteen seconds of fame. Thanks for the article, Scott!

I’m thinking about you This gives me goosebumps. 
Today is my last day at Vimeo. Starting Monday I will be working at Boxee. An extra special thanks to my friends and family for helping me through this difficult decision process. I’ll still be here in NYC and occasionally commuting to Tel Aviv. I’ll truly miss working with my friends every day at Vimeo. It’s too bad we can’t be friends anymore. I learned a lot from this
